Why YOU Should Take A Sales Course

Sales skills = life skills; level up to be your best

Sales is not complicated. It’s asking the right questions and really listening to the answers. Anyone can do it. And there is no more accountable job in the world. I think every person should learn it. I believe that taking at least one sales course will benefit people in more ways than they even realize.

I coined the phrase “Life Is Sales” to demonstrate that we all sell, all the time. Sometimes, we just don’t realize that we do. “Sales” is just working with people to solve problems. It’s asking the right questions and really listening to the answers. It’s research, marketing, and customer service. Actually, pitching is only a small piece of the process. In most cases, the stereotypical “sale” is only the beginning of a relationship.

Benefits of a sales course

Twenty-five years ago, I was an electrical engineer who decided I should learn sales so I could better understand the business world. It turned out to be the turning point in my career and life. Sure, I learned sales skills, but it put me on a path toward developing my leadership abilities, which eventually led me toward becoming the CEO of my own company.

Here are a myriad of valuable skills and concepts that sales teaches and hones:

  • Communication skills

  • Active listening

  • Critical thinking

  • Problem solving

  • Negotiating tactics

  • Reading human behavior

  • Social Emotional Intelligence

  • Understanding emotions behind decision-making

  • Account management

  • Service

As you can see, this is a pretty well-rounded list, which demonstrates how sales touches so many areas of work and life. It’s a vital tool to add to one’s toolbox, agreed? Then keep reading…

Life Is Sales sales training program

So now you’re interested in a sales course, but not sure where to start? Good news—we have one for you! I’ve been mentoring and coaching people for years, but I officially launched the Life Is Sales training program with my team in 2025 so I could scale and reach more individuals. It’s a formal course designed to teach the hard and soft skills necessary for a successful sales career.

We have three options for completing the program: Video Course, Sales Support Groups, and Individual Coaching. Choose the path that fits your learning best. The Video Course is the foundation, and is designed to take three months by watching and interacting with one module every two weeks; however, students have the freedom to move at their own pace. And then they can advance to the next 3-month module. There are 4 modules, totally to a complete 12-month program.

We cover sales from a holistic perspective, meaning how it affects all facets of life. We don’t just sell at work; we sell at home to our family, friends, and neighbors. We sell our ideas when presenting in a meeting. We sell others on their potential when building teams or raising a family. I could go on, but you get the idea.

I love giving back to the next generation of sales professionals, team managers, CEOs, and leaders. I enjoy seeing people unlock something in themselves that they didn’t know was there, as well as sharing the mistakes I made so others don’t have to go through those unnecessary steps.

The first two Life Is Sales lessons are available for free to give you a sense of how the program flows and whether it’s a good fit for you.

We all have our own selling styles, so don’t try to be somebody you’re not by copying theirs. Let us teach you how to use your sales superpower!

Maximize your potential

So, have I sold you on the benefits of taking a sales course? Do you see how it can take your career to the next level, no matter what your role is? Understand how it can improve your personal life? Great! The next step is to take action and start one as soon as possible. Time is something none of us can get back, so don’t waste it. When we invest in ourselves, it’s always worth it.
